Default Latest Infinst version dor x48 series ? and "Turbo version vs normal ?"

    Hello,

I have never had problems on installing new chipset drivers on PC,
    but now I'm confused.

On the gigabyte site there is quite old intel chipset version for x48-ds5.
I tried of course intel standard chipset downloads, but I'm not sure, which version is right for me.
There is turbo version, and standard version, optimized for p4 etc,
but what is the suitable for the newest x48 x58 generation ?

Also turbo version is ok for an 9550/gtx260/ocz1066 config?
Or stick with some standard versions ?

    Any help appreciated,

    Thanks In Advance,
    Pubem

Yeah I dont know, were your getting the Turbo Idea from, But I know that GIGABYTE need to update there drivers page a bit. I had lots of fun with vista 64bit after installing the "latest" chipset drivers, windows update kept wanting me to install another lot?? I got them from the Intel Website and it seems to be working ok now. Especially with my new HD4850, eveything is finally working properly.

Gigabyte's site is very outdated, I tried to grab them from intel, but not clear for me, which is for this board and which is for previous generation, or it is mixed now and one infinst for all intel chipset motherboards ?

I have no probs with my 4850 (regarding to chipset...), what was your prob ?

LSD: Thanks for the link. I confused on "Primarily for Intel® 4, 3, 900 Series Chipsets" sentence. Intel 4?? What ?

Turbo chipset driver I have read on the net. I can't remember. Maybe it was for notebooks only ?

I was having problems with my 8800GT not my HD4850 I think Intel 4 series mean 45 and x48 so you should be ok with it. I think after you run the exe it will not install if its not the right ones. If all else fails look in device manager after install and see BUS X48 and stuff.

    Thanks for the reply !

But I don't like beta bios updates and there is no issue in my system mentioned on this update. (ahci and raid issue).

It is in beta stage since long time.. :-(
