Default Help in selecting the right MoBo

I am new at this and building my first PC (by myself).

I will be using Quad Q9550.

The ones that look interesting are GA-EP45T-UD3R and GA-EP45-UD3LR

Can anyone please advise what should and what I shouldn't be looking for in selecting a MoBo?

Also what are the differences between the above two, as price is very similar?

Last stupid question.. should I look for RAID MoBo or not? I would be using multiple HDD.. Hitachi 1TBs.

Thanks in advance for your help!

PS: I have also posted this question on GB sponsored Forum. Apologies if this causes any trouble

Well After a quick look on the Gigabyte website the one main difference between these two mother boards is that the GA-EP45T-UD3R uses DDR3 RAM and the GA-EP45-UD3LR uses DDR2. I have noticed that DDR3 has come down in price pretty well over the last few months which makes the differnce there small. DDR3 will run @ a faster speed hence be faster probably. The EP45T Does not support Tripple channel however So you will be running you DDR3 in Dual Channel only. The EP45T does probably have better Motherboard Cooling with the heat pipe being used. One thing that will make life easier is to get ram that is on the supported list or what others here have already tried and tested.
