    flycaster52,

Hmmm...not sure what to make of that myself but thanks for pointing that out.

Still doing some fine tuning on this case and should have some more pics and other updates shortly but so far (knock on wood) everythings looking real good!

Are there any Dip Switch settings for the Sound Card on this MOB? I'm having problems installing my Creative Audigy Gamer Sound Card. I keep getting the error message; "Setup Could Not Detect any Sound Blaster Card Audigy on your system.........."

The "OnBoard Sound" in BIOS was diabled and I have the latest Creative Drivers from their web site. Also, tried all PCI Slots (1-5) without the card being recognized.

I'm borrowing a friends Sound Card this evening so I'll know if it's a bad card or not but seems like these cards have been very reliable for most people. Lucky me I guess.

Nope no dips or jumpers, it's all done in the BIOS. Sorry don't know how to help ya with this one except that it sounds like ya may have a dead card there. I use the onboard sound which I find good enough for me. ;)

    Thanks Wiggo..just checking.

This evening I swapped out my Creative Audigy Gamer Sound Card with a co-workers. After trying a few things here's what I've got.

It looks like the card is installed but when I run the installation software I'm still getting an error message. I yet to get the installation software to complete but I selected the "update driver" option from DEVICE MANAGER which appears to have done the job? I haven't installed my speakers yet so I'm not sure what it's doing but it looks like the cards installed? Isn't it?

Below is a pic of what happens when installing the Creative Sound Blaster software off the installation CD and this PIC is the most recent download off the Creative Web Site which also fails (File Name: AUDDRVPACK, dated 8/26/02, 12.16MB)

    More detail on drivers.

Can some that has this Sound Card installed just confirm what I should be seeing under DEVICE MANAGER for "Sound, Video, and Game Controllers"?

Got the Sound Card installed....FINALLY! Whew..took all night. Here's the fix by the way as nothing else seemed to work.

re-flashed the BIOS F10 from Windows XP (even though I was already running F10). Also, made sure I checked the box for the "clear dmi info" & "internet update".

    Next powered down.
Removed all but the Video Card, memory, and CPU.
    Booted again.
Went into the BIOS option for "Load Optimized Defaults", F10 (saved/exited).
Re-enter the BIOS and disabled "On Board Sound".
    Saved / Exit
    Re-installed Windows XP Pro (reformat / re-partioned)
Re-install the sound card (before anything else).
Then installed my other PCI devices one by one.

Also in BIOS make sure APIC is enabled under the "BIOS Feature Setup" option.

    We're back in business !

P.S. Some of the guys over at AMDMB's forum helped me out w/ this one. They have some good guys who are very familar w/ this particular Gigabyte board.

Should be able to make some good progress now so I should have some final PICS up shortly.

Well, it only took me since July 20th, 2002 to complete this little project. My PC is finally complete.

    All hardware installed.
    All software installed.
    Installed the latest BIOS updates.
    All the latest drivers installed.

Must admit the Gigabyte GA-7VRXP MOB is a sweet ride once you get through a few of the hurtles. Some of the hurtles I had were not MOB related (if you happen to have followed this thread all the way through).

For those of you who have helped me along the way I offer a big "THANK YOU".

Again, this was my 1st PC and was an upgrade from my old DELL 333 Dimension (what an upgrade).

    P.S. Not sure if something's changed on the forum but wanted to post some pics of the completed PC I built but keep getting an error saying;

"The uploaded file is not a valid GIF or JPG file. Please ensure that it is and try again"

I've tried both formats (GIF, JPG, JPEG) for the last 3 days and still the same error. Just wondering if it's me or the forum as I would love to post some final pics of the PC I had built?
