SORRY, I typed it wrongly above! Its 8K5A2+ not K85A2+.

Other than the two short blurbs in the news section, there is little mention of the 8K5A2+ on the Epox site. Oh and check out "New Products" section on this forum. These are:

July 24th 2002 (16:42) - EPoX has some brand new boards coming out. 8K3AE (lite version of the 8K3A+), 4SDM2+, 8K5A3+ and 4G4AE

July 19th 2002 (09:55) - EPoX flag ship motherboard, the 8K3A+ will soon be replaced with the newest KT333 motherboard which has the VIA 8235 SB, USB 2.0, AC 97 6Ch, LAN, and options of HPT 374 or 372.

The last two are Highpoint chipset for raid. Current model uses 372. The difference is that 374 is 4 channel and 372 is 2 channel.

There is more info at: http://www.highpoint-tech.com/

Edit: Oops, I should have included the link to the article:

    http://forums.tweaktown.com/showthre...&threadid=3414

Also, if you read this carefully, you'll notice that there is 8K5A2+ and 8K5A3+. My guess is the first one has a 372 Raid chip and the second has the 374 (and apparently there is supposed to be a S-ATA variant too).

Can you actually get an Athlon XP 2200 in Oz?

Also, did anyone notice that pretty much all Athlons now carried in Oz are retail (except a few slower ones like 1600 or 1700)?

One site mentioned (sorry can't recall which one) that AMD is not selling OEM cpus anymore.

The population base, market size plus the disposble income rates has a lot to do with that fact. They always release first in the countries that offer the quickest and largest return :(
