    Default GA-X58A-UD3R and Ahci Problem

Hi all, my first post here.
I built this rig a year or so ago, but was never satisfied with the speed, always thought it should respond better.
So yesterday after much research I changed the bios from Ide to Ahci for my ssd, an Intel 75GB where the OS(W7 64 bit) resides. Right away the machine speeded up. Surfing was like lightning, and Photoshop CS5 like greased lightning. Then I walked away for a half hour and came back to two black monitors of a 3 monitor setup.
Device Manager showed a yellow mark on the second video card, and also a code 43, which translates to a message saying that Windows has shut the card down because of an error.
So then I went back to the bios and changed it back to Ide. That didnít fix it.
Iím wondering if clearing the Cmos would help?

Thanks for the reply. I reinstalled the drivers for the video cards several times. Are you saying to physically reinstall the cards?

Okay, problem solved. I removed one of the vid cards, a gt8800, and tested it in another box. It is dead. Popped a spare card into this pc and it works like a chqamp. Btw, I changed back to Ahci as well. Very fast now.
    Thanks, wazza300.
