Default GA-EP45T-UD3LR RAM memory and chipset compatibility question

in general, does using a set of RAM memory sticks with a mobo/chipset which is not part of the product details work?
To make my question clearer, i want to use G.skill RAM G.Skill 2x4GB DDR3 1600Mhz Ares Dual Channel CL9-9-9 but the product info says the following
    M/B Chipset:
    P67 / Z68 / P55 / AMD7xx / 8xx / 9xx Series / FM1
Will this work with my EP45T mobo?
if so, then will there be any risk or tweaks i would have to do in order to stabilize or make it work?
Maybe its better to just stick to a set of RAM which has my mobo chipset stated in the RAM product information?

thanks a lot, i love reading this site....

    Welcome to the forum.

    from: G.SKILL- 2x4GB DDR3 1600Mhz Ares Dual Channel CL9-9-9

    DDR3-1600 PC3 12800 4GB(4GB x 1) / 8GB(4GB x 2) CL 9-9-9-2N 1.5 Volts XMP Ready for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Generation Intel Core Processors Compatible with AMD platform

G.SKILL- specifications and supported motherboards list
This page has detailed information and includes a Qualified Motherboards List that does not include any P45 motherboards.

The G.Skill online Ram Configurator for a EP45T-UD3R motherboard has a list of recommended memory kits.

Using memory kits for newer motherboards might work, but it might be harder to get your system stable or it might not be stable at all. Newer memory kits might not be as stable as an older kit that was tested by the manufacturer and designed to be compatible with your system. I recommend that you go with one of G.Skill's recommend kits for your motherboard or to buy a kit that is listed in the Gigabyte supported memory list for your motherboard.

With your P45 motherboard, start with somewhat under-clocked memory speeds and stress test your system to ensure that it is stable. Once it's stable you can try increasing the memory speed and testing again that the settings are stable. Some have found that they couldn't run their DDR3 memory at the full rated memory speed. There are several EP45T forum threads that have detailed advice when using DDR3 memory. You can use the forum's advanced search feature to search for titles that include: EP45T

If you need any help with your new memory, create a new thread in the Gigabyte forum, such as EP45T-UD3LR, Need DDR3 Memory Help

That's my 2 shekels worth of advice.
