Sorry to spoil the Asus party, but if you're tempted by the p4s8x - don't - no really - don't! They are very unstable right now - I've just returned 2 boards (one bent like a smiley when you put the cpu cooler in place!). Overheating, various blue screens etc. Check out the Asus support forum before buying.

I've moved to the GA-8PE667 - very happy user - it's stable all the os's I want to run, voltages are ok (Asus all over the place), temp is bang on too - Asus has a 50C CPU....

Something to bear in mind maybe.....

I was an asus fan thru and thru but I had an Asus A7A266 mobo and the darn thing had nothing but problems...would lock up on me constantly so dont look at that mobo. I am not sure if they even make it anymore but its one to avoid.

I haven't had one problem with my Asus P4PE since burning it in. When I first hooked it all up, I had some very minor problems. Nothing to get upset over. I had a problem with it restarting on it's own. I just let in run 24/7 for a few days, ran some Sisoft Sandra burn-ins and everything works great now. It's been up and running without one single crash for about 3 weeks now. I have heard about Asus boards and their voltage being wacky, but mine are stable. I know that non-name brand PSU's are the cause of unstable voltage on many boards. My temps are good also:
    CPU avg = 35c - 38c
    System avg = 27c - 31c
    Inside case temp = 25c
I have 5 intake fans and 4 exhaust, all 80mm. This keeps the air moving straight thru the case, keeping it nicely cooled.
