Finally got it all together and working a few days ago. Of course help from computer friend. We were both amazed everything worked right from the start. And, no smoke. Ended up using two Samsung Pro 500gb in raid0, I think for the main drive. Downloading several programs, takes only a minute, instead of several minutes. Great picture on rog swift. Spending many hours for new software, and transferring stuff from my old computer to this new one. Only issue seems to be the two WD, D drives are not recognized on computer yet. I have the C and external E drives working. Initial tests of Nvidia 3d look great. You mentioned of the compatibility of the liquid cooling fans, for the Storm Trooper case. Take the top fan out of case, and the twin liquid cooler master fans screw right in, no adapters.

Computer still working, still trying to learn. Question you may or may not know the answer for. Trying to scan old photos at a very high dpi count, with other things like dust removal, etc. I get an error screen not enough storage space to complete task, need to not do some of the items like dust removal or lower dpi. You can look at my saved specs, and I believe should have enough storage space? Would this be the ramm? If you look I have 32, not enough?
As always thanks, and enjoy your daily news updates. Thanks Todd

    1. What is the name and model number of your scanner?
    2. What is the scanning software's name and version number?
    3. Are you scanning directly to disk? Are you trying to scan directly into an image editing program?
    4. What are the physical dimensions of the photos that you want to scan?
    5. What is the DPI scanning resolution that you have selected?
    6. Are the photos black and white? colored?
    7. How much free space is there on your raid 0 boot drive?
    8. How much free space is there on each of your WD hard drives?

Not enough storage space might refer the available amount space for temporary work files.

For the moment an Epson Artisan 810. Want to go to a professional scanner soon. Waiting a bit for them to be Windows 8.1 and 10 compatible, along with the latest USB, or ?
Scanning software is what came with the Epson Scanner about four years ago. Again will need to update along with new scanner. And looking for an editor in the very near future, Photoshop, or? My neighbor is a professional photographer, and has given me some ideas, but he does not scan.
Scanning directly to desktop, or photos. I can open with the simple Paint version that came with Windows 8.1. But when I do it is a very magnified small portion of the scan.
The photos and future negatives are from 4x6 to 11x14, most are 8x10s
dpi generally is the best as possible for archival saving. I understand around 3000 is good?
Black and white and color, photos and negatives.
Not sure which one that is, but the C drive has one terabyte, and the internal raid WD's are two terabytes each, so together, is two.
Everything is just about empty, again just starting to use this, and have not downloaded any games or software yet.

A web search using: how to scan slides OR photographs for best picture quality provides many useful links.

See if there are recent software updates for your Epson Artisan 810 all in one copier and scanner.

For lossless image quality, avoid using jpg file formats, use tiff or png file formats if you can.

I think that the problem might be with the M/S Paint program.

IrfanView is an excellent freeware program that is a very powerful but basic image editing/viewing program.

You can subscribe to Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom for $9.99 per month, but you might be able to find it for only $7.99 per month.

On1 Photo 10 and Zoner Photo Studio are excellent photo editing programs and each offers a free 30 day trial period with no software restrictions. I think that each of them has a 30 day money back guarantee if you are not happy with their software. Currently they both have holiday sale prices on their software.

I have the following software on my system:

The Zoner software's "regular" price is $99 but they frequently sell it for $49 or less. I upgrade the Zoner software about every two years when they offer a version that is one year older than the most recent version for about $30 which sometimes includes their family license for multiple computers.
I emailed Zoner to see if I can get you a better price if/when you want to buy it.

On1 and Zoner have excellent support on their respective websites and On1 has many video tutorials.
