ive got a P4 1.8 running at 400Mhz fsb and i want to upgrade my mobo without upgrading my processor. id like to get something w/ the new granite bay chipset. i found an article here about the gigabite GA-8INXP. its my understanding that it will support both 533 and 400. problem is, i guess you can only run a max of PC2100 w/ a 400Mhz processor. can i get a board like this and then get some PC2100 memory and still take advantage of its dual DDR mem. this way, later on i can just upgrade my processor to a newer P4 running @ 533Mhz.

    this is what i have:
    768 PC-133
    P4 1.8 (400Mhz)
    Gforce 4-4600
    Win XP Home
    mobo only supports 400 fsb

    any good info is appreciated:?:

Even with just plain PC2100 there'll be plenty of bandwidth for ya as PC1600 would supply enough bandwidth (though only just). ;)
