I went with the Code. I was in exactly the same boat. The Asus seemed to have more options than the EVGA. I also had a good friend that had the Z170 board from ASUS and he was very happy.

I am debating between the EVGA Z270 Classified K and the ASUS ROG Maximus IX Code.
Based on the reviews on this site EVGA seems to use pretty good components on their boards and the latest ASUS boards may be using inferior components in the Z270 series. However, I find that very few people use EVGA boards and I am wondering why this is. Am I missing something about EVGA boards that I should be way of? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each?
