Thread: looking for an nForce2 mobo

    I'd just run it as a standard IDE drive off the main IDE controller for it's best performance if it was me and I havn't seen any test results on these Serial ATA adapters or if there is any performance hit in runnin' them that way (if anyone has a reliable link then pls post it). : peace2:

    tom's hardware ( www.tomshardware.com )has one i think...i know i've read one somewhere...there isn't any performance loss, but there isn't a performace gain either, except for the thinner and longer cables. To really see a performance boost from sata you would need an actuall serial hard drive, or cd rom, or...
    I've gone too far and need to move on!

    I would prolly do the same..and as he has mentioned (Wiggo that is) its not true SATA meaning it won;t run at 150mb/s.

    What i think would complete the nForce as the ultimate MOBO (atm)would be IDE RAID instead of SATA...

    copy that flaco. that's pretty much what i'm looking for. wiggo mentioned, i could get the epox and add a pci raid controller, but how can you tell the bios to boot from the add-on controller? i want to install xp on and boot from my raid disks :confused:
