    Hi all,
Sorry for need help so urgently, but I'd like to start installing my new MOBO in the morning, I have a question and really don't want to wait for the computer shops to open. Will my AMD Athlon 2000 XP+ work in my new Asus A7N8X MOBO?

    Thanks,
    Al:smokin:

    Yes. :thumb:

You may or may not be able to force the multiplier but it will run fine.

Thanks. Sorry to such a pain. No more questions, on to the operation.

The reason I asked is that the book said " Socket A for AMD Duron / Athlon XP 2800+ or higher"

    That had me confused.

    Thanks again Wiggo:cheers:

    Ok here I go being a dumb As&, but 2800 + or higher. Isn't the 2000+ lower?

I must be missing something here. But I'm trying to learn.

    Thanks,
    Al

Thanks. I have to say that in reading the forums and seeing the number posts you reply to, and the level of knowledge some people have (myself included) I admire your patience. I hope I'll be able to add to the forums instead of taking.
