Ok the VIA drivers that come with XP are fairly ancient (even those on Asus' site are dated). :(

Go here, http://www.viaarena.com/?PageID=2, and d/l the VIAHyperion4in1v4.46.exe (yes these are drivers and not utilities) then read this, http://forums.tweaktown.com/showthre...&threadid=5234, but the reason I say to do this straight after the os has been loaded is so that ya less probs with the other drivers as the VIA ones are needed for the os to talk to the mobo's chipset properly. ;)

You'll want those last 2 drivers as well at Asus' site.

Thanks I'll keep you posted as to how my system runs (and hopefully not crash!). What I want to do first is run some benchmarks on my existing system before the new driver upgrade and see if I can see any difference. The 2 I just downloaded are 3Dmark 2001SE and PCMark2002. Do you think the Sysmark is worth testing too? It seems there is no free version to download. Do you know where I might be able to get it?

The two that ya have should suffice to do the job.
