In my P4 system I have two enermax 8cm case fans + one 9cm fan in the side and one 9cm on the top. Don't worry the heatsink is attached correctly. Its only ever gottent that hot once and that was after I did a Sandra burn in Wizard for a long time. It usually runs around 32c and 38 after a long session of battlefield. hehehe I'm currently modding my case for my athlon. Its got two extra fans now.

All you athlon guys what temps are you getting? idle + load.

I have 1 athlon system at my house (don't use it tho, 'cept for crunching seti #'s) and it's a 2600. At 100% it's temp is 41 C w/ Volcano 7+ on medium. Runs a whole 10 degree's hotter than my 1.8ghz p4 at full load w/ volcano 7+ on low :) Idle temp, if i can remember rightly, the 2600+ after I installed windows on it and was transfering the seti stuff to it, I think I checked before, and something told me it was around 35 C... but that's been a while now so I'm not 100% certain o nthat # (mid to high 30's likely)

funnily enough I think that my P4 will end being a Seti cruncher. I used to use my p2 but god it used to take ages

What the Athlon? No 'fraid not. The mother board is still with the company I bought it from. That's what will probably happen to my P4 when my Athlon comes along i.e it will probably become a seti cruncher. Depending or what is faster. For a wee bit I expect I will make the athlon a games server until I can get another Radeon for it and some more memory. I could pull out the stuff thats in the P4 but I don't think that is such a great Idea. I just can't wait until I can get the mb back so I can start playing with the amd system - overclocking it etc + I want to run the two pc's together to see which one is faster. my P4 V my Amd - can't wait. :)
