this seems like the best place for this...

    Googlegear is now ZipZoomFly.com
When we were founded in 1998, it was with the focus of offering a seemingly endless selection of assorted products. We've recently decided to change our name because it no longer represents our very concentrated focus: performance computer upgrades with no frills.

"ZipZoomFly" is a tribute to the speed at which computer technology evolves, as well as our commitment to Zip, Zoom, and Fly along with the speed of technology so that we'll always be bringing you the latest parts and accessories for your computer system!

If you haven't shopped with us lately, we invite you to come by and see us again. We're a CNET and Dealtime-certified, ResellerRatings Elite and Bizrate Gold store, as well as Intel Corporation's "Etailer of the Year." Come find out why!

Click here to read the press release about our name change: http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/Servic...09-15-2003.jsp

I got the same email last night.

They are alirght. Although their pricesk, even on sale, don't match or beat newegg.com, or directron.com for that matter.
They are alright. I think the name change had a lot to do with pressures from other places and the fact that most people didn't like the fact they took on the GOOGLE name althought weren't even affiliated. At least in my impressions from peoples feedback and stuff.
I would shop there again, after I had checked all my regular resources first though.

    Just my :2cents:

Hmm, must be the all the particular stuff I'm looking for, past and present. I have yet to find NewEgg beat a price on Googlegear/ZoomZipFly. I did find my current monitors cheaper at Directron tho.

I will say that the service and return options aren't anywhere near as good as NewEgg tho.

A few years ago, I bought a mouse from their dollar store (everything was a buck). It cost me about $25 CDN to get that thing, and I had to drive about an hour to the store just across the border so I could pick it up. Not very cost effective.

Does that leave one to assume you're refering to Newegg?

 wouldn't it have been easier and cheaper to stick with a canadian retailer?

This would be true if one was assuming I was making a reasoned decision, but I wasn't. It was an impulse buy.
