you missed my point. It's not about who has the biggest or best. It's about getting the most reliable computer for your money. For me computers is more than just a hobby, it pays the bills. I have built a number of computers for people and many of those were more inexpensive than a Compaq...the difference is, they are reliable. You can easily build a computer for less money than you could buy a compaq. The majority of computers that I have to fix are Compaq's, and mainly because they are cheap (and I don't mean the price tag). For example, I had a notebook brought to me because half the keys just stoped working...that is a quality issue. All I could do was send it back to compaq for another cheap keyboard.
I've gone too far and need to move on!

Thanks for the link PrairieDawg. I'll give that one a try. I will say one thing on behalf of HP. My Dad ran it for several years and it never crashed on him. It's a very stable computer. Just with only 533MHz and 256mgb pc100. It was getting prety slow with all the apps he had loaded. I think with the 1.8GHz celeron and 512mgb of pc2100 he's got now. He should be good for a couple more years. As well as getting him off win98 the mobo's a VIA P4PB so he has fire wire and upgradeabilty this time around. I stuck my TNT 64M 32mgb card in it. LOL Then again his favorite game is Carnivors Ice Age.
    P.S. I own a compaq Armada E500, PIII 650MHz, 12gig, DVD, 14.1" screen. I love it though their's no room for tweaking. : peace2:

Well CPU FSB worked. Itís now happily running at 854MHz. An increase of about 11%. Not much but thatís about what I used to run it at. Higher settings had no effect. Until 100MHz then it froze. Thanks again PrairieDawg. Hereís the screenie too boot.
