in a quest to push my xp2100 beyond 2.4ghz i have been trying to up my voltage...i get to about 2.45ghz@1.8v

After this, any higher cpu voltage results in massive instability...i cant figure y this would be. my PSU seems to be more than up to the task as my voltages are good...it cant be my cooling bcos the slk800 should be able to handle much more and my load temp is around 34-36 (running SETI@home). Is it possbile the AUIHB xp2100 simply doesnt like higher voltage? anyone else with AUIHB t-bred's would like to share their experiances?

That is probably the end of the line for your overclock.
Seeing as how a XP2100 does stock of 1.73GHz, and you say you are running it at 2.45GHz (at stock voltage?!?), and anything above makes it unstable, then you are done with your O/Cing.

no i am running 2.4ghz @1.8v...i can do 2.1@stock voltage.
but the question remains...even if raising the voltage above 1.8 didnt incrase my o/c it shouldnt cause instability. Actually 1.85v seems fine...any higher no good.

Personally I wouldn't go past 1.85v on air cooling though some do push 1.95v but watch ya temps anyway.

well @1.95v my temps are still quite low...but i get massive instability...maybe the cpu just doesnt like the extra voltage?

i will also flash to the latest bios wen i get around to it...it could help.

btw my slk800 has a TTfan2 @3600rpm (about 50-60 cmf), with a 120m panaflow on the side blowing straight onto it so it doesnt seem to be a problem with heat. even @1.95v my load temp does not go over 40
I will update with any new info.

    2.46@ 1.775(overvolting to 1.81v) seems stable...i would really liek to reach 2.5ghz...just seems a nice number:bounce: :bounce2: :bounce:

How about lowering the FSB back to 200Mhz and up the MP to 12.5 or 13? It may be possible that the slightly overclocked FSB is starting to mess with ya. For AMD CPUs going any higher than 1.85V is kinda useless. I've read about several overclock reviews of AMD procs, and they all tell about the same: Raising voltage over 1.8 doesn't help you getting better coreclocks.
