I only said that because for some reason, when I say "idle" you interpret it as "full load", when I never said such thing.

I know one thing for sure...

I stopped caring about Intel a LONG time ago!!. It's AMD all the way for me ever since my first AMD platform. Before I was a stubborn Intel junkie. Ahhh... salvation feels good ;)

But anyways, thanks for the positive feedback that was related to the AMD 3000+ overclock potential . I think it would very much apply to an 2800+ too which I eventually ended up with. Seeing the specs of you guys, it must be possible to let it run at 3200+ speeds and a tad more. I can't wait till my local shop finally gets their AS3 in stock. I've spend two weeks getting the parts for almost a totally new rig and not getting the AS3 is a showstopper!! So well.. I gotta be a bit more patient here

What truth? That line sounded pretty damn cryptic

Well, I finally put the computer together. These are the specs:

    AMD 2800+ @2310Mhz (210x11) @1.75v I:47c/L:53c
    1024MB DC PC2700CL2.5 @175Mhz, 3-3-2-2.5
    Tt Volcano 7+ Low setting
    Asus A7N8X DeLuxe 2.0
    Maxtor 120GB/7200rpm/8MB SATA x2
    Aopen 48x CD drive
    Plextor 8x/4x/32x CD writer
    Enermax EG465AX
    Superflower TT301 case

I know, one day I should get some DDR 450 memory. Funny thing though is that this brandless 333Mhz memory I got now works perfectly in dual channel and runs at very juicy timings too. Sticks were only $60 each...

Looks good but run that HSF on at least medium otherwise it doesn't move a lot of air and doesn't cool well.

Even if your memory is slower (175mhz), with 1 Gig you wont notice the difference unless ya bench mark or SETI, etc. If you bought faster RAM (PC3200, w/e) you'd drop $300 USD for not alot. I wouldnt do a damn thing to that system :thumb:. : peace2: Mista K6

EDIT: Check your temps, if they're high, boost it up to medium, if not, keep it on low; silence is goldern :D
