Well.. I've spend some time tweaking yesterday. I thought the memory benchmarks were nice for PC2700. Well wait till you see this:

    CPU: 194x12@2330MHz@1.775v
    Memory: 194MHz, 3-3-3-3, @2.9v

Prime95 stable (2+ hours final test, stopped it cause I went to bed)

Looks like the memory is the best deal I got ;)

That is very nice memory bandwidth for PC2700!!

Just like I said, backing off on the FSB and syncronizing with the RAM will often give you a better.......well you know (don't want to offend anyone again ;) )

I'm curious about how that will affect your overall system performance.

It didn't improve much though. I went from 1850 to 1863 3D'03 Marks. But overall, it got a bit better. I would never think I could run the memory in synch at such high speeds (considering it's PC2700) so I kept using the 83% divider. If I would up the memory timings, it would make things unstable too. By now I've found the 'sweetspot' for my system :)

You must be using an older graphics card. With a 9800Pro you would be hitting very close to 6000 in '03 and be over 18,000 in '01 is my guess.

You can't use 3DMark03 to test CPU/RAM increases, that is all video card tests.

3DMark01 is very good in that area, it is very sensitive to those kind of adjustments.

    That's right, it's a Ti4600 4x AGP. An FX5900 would do much better :p

3D'03 is heavily reliant on the GFX card. For individual tests, I've gotten used to SiSoft Sandra. But I'll give 3DMark01 a try.

If you plan on using your system for gaming, '01 provides a very useful frame of reference to determine what tweaks are having the best effect on overall system performance regardless of what graphics card you are using.

For example, just because one configuration gets you a higher memory bandwidth than another configuration doesn't mean your system will play games faster. There are so many factors taken into account.

Just got my system up and running and my 3000+ is running 2.298 Ghz with stock fsb (200x2) and voltage (1.65v), just increased multiplier from 10.5 to 11.5, running a Gigabyte GA-7NNXP board....MBM reads my CPU at 53c at idle, about 57c at load.... but everything I've seen on the 3000+ and these Gigabyte baords is about the same..... running an Aero 7+ CPU fan.... might take it off here in a few days and double check the Arctic Silver and make sure it's all cool, since i just got this together and all.... would taking my BIOs setting to aggressive help much? or would that mainly hlep my memory timings? (System specs below in Sig) might tweak the FSB/Voltage later on...
