hhey, jsut needs some opions on what i should do to my computer.

    i am running a 2500+ with Tt 7+ cooling.
i wanted to make the ram and cpu work together well, so today, i tried to OC my computer to 200mhz FSB to get the matching speed as my pc3200 ram. Well, my first attept was at 10x200 which was stable and good thing was i didnt have to change v core + the temp was at a ok temp of 44 degrees in asus probe , and 39 in nexus probe.

then, i tried to push harder by setting it to 11x200. Well, i had to make v core to 1.7 (a.50v increasment) and the temp in probe is now at 47-49 in asus, and nexus reading 45-47C. but good thing is that is stable.

now, what should i do, make it 10x200 or 11x200. I want a fast system, but i was conserned at the temps. just need some opions. thanks

what are you using as a TIM, Acrtic Silver III (or a number of other TIMs) will bring it down. If you haven't happed your HSF already, you should. Those are your cheap options if you haven't already done them.

If you have done all of that, then either your case cooling stinks or your room temp is a bit on the hot side (this is the hint for you to give us the temp in your room ;) )

Just to see if you have a case cooling issue, pop the side off and point a fan into the case...if the temps drop a good bit the you may want to consider adding a few strategically placed fans.

i am using AC cermique or wat ever is calll. i use to use the basic slicon compond and that was a nightmare. had like 48 at stock.

well,i dont have money now to spend on computer cause just spend 1800 bucks building it. and anouther 500 for the new BMX bike i bought.

i;ve got a side fan blowing in air. so i guess that will help a bit.

It would be a good idea to state whether these temps are idle or 100% load temps plus give the room temp (all preferablely in degrees C).

Magicbox just posted a pic under cooling of his V7+ that he is LAPPING right now. He found it WASN'T flat at all and looks like it needs quite a lapping! ;)

I think Minibubba suggested it as well.
It is a good possibility it could bring your temps down.
Best of all, it doesn't cost much for sand paper, and a little elbow grease.

At 15c, 48c seems a little high for me. My room temp is about 32f, and my CPU runs about 42c full load.

From the #'s your CPU is running over 2x as hot as the room temp. From my experience, 5-15c over the room temp seems about normal, even 20c. But 33c hotter, seems a bit out of the loop.

    Chez

Anything below 60c should be fine though in the overall scope of things. Personally I worry about anything above 50c when I have used the aftermarket products I do and expect them to keep the temps in check.

how do i check if my heatsink is flat? do i put it on a flat place and see if its flat?

and what grit sand paper do u suggest? i h ave only 400 and alot of 2000 grit lying in my house. will those make it shine?

I do about 40-48C depending on the room temp. Sometimes it gets pretty warm in here! :p

I'm at 200x11 and as long as you keep it under 50C you are probably fine. Worst case scenario is you fry a $80 CPU but I doupt you are in danger of that. If it runs stable at 200x11 and you can keep it under 50C loaded I would guess you are fine.
