Anybody out there had good luck overclocking an FX 5600 chip? I have and with little better than stock cooling. Interested in hearing from anyone else with a FX 5600.

Seem to have a bit of a CPU heat problem. With the room at 20C, Athon XP 2600+, 1GB PC2100 RAM, MSI mainboard, soundblaster audigy, asus fx-5600 video card, 8cm 35 CFM case fan intaking air down in the bottom of the case front, 9cm 2000 RPM case fan exhausting out the rear and a coolermaster all copper heatpipe cooler with the stock AMD cooling fan. Seeing 51-52 degrees under load with the side panel off. The case is rather smallish and I am surmissing that is why the temps are up there. Any body have any suggestions on how I can beat the heat without adding more noise? Thanks everyone.

    Welcome to Tweaktown

I don't have a 5600 personally, but there are several threads around here in which ppl have documented their sucess with that card. You may want to search around and see what has been done.

that's not really true. it depends on who built it and what the specific hardware is. I have bought 2 OEM systems in the past, from the same company, that achieved a decent OC for that generation of hardware (pIII 550 and pIII 933). But they used quality, name brand parts unlike your typical OEM facility.

Cool, once I get better cooling, I will push mine as far as it will go. This Asus card seems to have long legs and she wants to go.
