errr excuse my ignorance, but what the hecks sandra? heh

    my understanding was it went

    Cas# latency 2
    Ras # precharge 3
    Ras# to cas# delay 2
    Precharge delay 6

is the order in my bios and that equates to the order listed on the ram 2-3-2-6

Well, kenshin, IMO doesn't matter what speed they're rated at, just find the best they can do.
    So, did u try 2-2-3-5? or 2-2-3-6?

and sandra is a hardware diagnostic and benchmark suite. U can find it here

well messing with 2-2-3-6 now that my d.loads done. got a few weird program crashes on that setting though im gonna go looka the the voltage and MHZ speed...

    question bout that though

for DRAM frequency it only lists 266mhz, 333 Mhz, and 400 Mhz

I thought the options i would have would be 100/ 133/ 166/ 200 MHz. but i got 266, 333, 400. is that a problem? i thought it took the number and doubled it but the setting by default can be 400. does that mean the rams not working in synch? little worried

Well, THIS is a good read for u then :)

    note:
In ASUS BIOS, divider 1:1 = DDR 400
    5:4 = DDR 320
    3:2 = DDR 266

Why 400 instead of 200? Because it's Double Data Rate (I think it's in the article :) )

wow thats a long article. heh it clears stuff up though, guess the 400 was the way to set it for a clean 1:1 ratio

got a problem though i think i'll post it in a new thread so i can get the opinions other than just those who were helping me with this. Tnx guys, youve been a ton of help! =D
