Thread: PC3200 or PCRam PC 3700 ??

    I've cracked it lads!!!
    My xms 3700 timings are 7-4-4-3T

    i've got these modules running stably at 400mhz.

    200mhz X 11.0 is equal to 2200GIG
    233mhz X 11.0 is equal to 2563GIG

    363 0r 358mhz slower cos this is runnin at 2205 than xms's rated peak performance. and i'm not sure if anyone has gone higher than 233mhz bounderies with these modules in an nforce 2 ultra 400 yet!!!

    There is a flaw. this memory doesn't like me user defining the memory timings to faster lower faster settings. settings are handpicked auto from my mobo

    It seems that my mobo prefers 1 and 3 dimm slots for dual channel mode with these 3700 paired rather than 2 and 3!!!
    the modules are set:

    2x512@200mhz each=400mhz
    200x11.0(3200+Barton)=2.205mh
    (DREAMS)......Just think... i wonder how far i could go if could unlock this cpu....;) i'll be back soon folks

    Do ya mean to say jamie_horwood that ya've just read the mobo manual which states quite clearly which DIMM slots to use for dual channel operation? :?:

    No...read that ages ago. besides im not as experienced as you. you are here to guide us :laugh: . i haven't had these dual channel sticks long. So there is two ways to try dual channel right... If one way doesn't work try the other. so i was carrying out the tests in 2 and 3 slots. i did and there hasn't been much joy, but when i changed channels to 1 and 3 slots. the systems seems to have inherited a supercharger its so damn fast. this is because im not using floppy drive disabled controllers and disabled the twinlan, plus i disabled the nvidia soundstorm. using creative audigy again. See i didn't have a clue that something like changing the channels would make a difference. i thought it stupid. I mean... if asus nvidia state the ways you can insert dual channel you would expect little more that the same reactions from the mem i woulda thought.

    or isn't this logical?

    I really get the feelin' that you are not logical as didn't ya think that there was a reason for why one DIMM slot is black while the other 2 are blue? Of course they're tryin' tell ppl which are the separate memory channels which is also why the manual gives the first choice of dual module installation as 1 and 3. : omg:

    ok so sorry. so i explained is as though it seemed unlogical. but i was trying to make a different point. instruction manual says you can effectively use the dual channel mode in either of two ways i know. 1@3 and 2@3. because with my tests i carried out with my new memory. the configuration i used was 2@3 blue dual channel slots. im trying to say that
    "does it make any difference in this world which of the two ways you configure the modules" Would you or would you not get the same performance increase. i don't know... maybe maybe not, but for some reason my mobo seems to be more stable with the modules configured in slot 2@3 for some wierd reason. Is that more understandable.
