An Athlon CPU can withstand thise high temps, but it shortens the life drastically

Yes, it CAN withstand it, but you dont want to lose a year or 2 off your computers life just for a few extra MHZ. I find running at 50-55C isnt bad at all. But, its just my opnion. :)

Sorry guys..yes it's75 F...about 23/24 I think.just forgot to convert it..by the way if I push past 110mhz..the system becomes very unstable..but the temp is not rising too much..which takes it to 880mhz..ahem the temp...as you know I've just started o\c so I wouldn't guarantee I'm actually measuring the cpu, mobo, or whatever correctly..it's understanding the software first!!

That would likely be as far as ya can take it as ya still have no way to adjust the voltages and no prog that I've heard of can do that for your mobo but a 10% speed increase isn't bad.

    Thanks Wiggo,
Yep I think you are right..I'll leave this where it is..not bad I thought for a first go..and I must admit it's running nice at the moment..but I,m not gonna push it any further..I'll wait til I get something a bit more tweakable..thanks for your help mate.
