Hi guys im a bit new to this whole Overclocking stuff, but i've maanged to do it pretty well so far i think on one of my computers

    Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.4 ghz
    512 DDR ram
    Radeon 9800 128mb non pro

When i got the non pro card, its bios had been flashed already to make it appear as though it were a pro...but i saw that it wasn't a pro when i noticed the default clock speeds :

    320 / 290

I have now overclocked it successfully and without artifacts at the following speeds

    390 / 325 :thumb:

This provides very excellent performance, and i am getting around 5600 3dmarks in 3dmark 2003...so am i pretty pleased, however what i would like to know is...can i go any higher on either the core or memory clocks....cus i haven't even seen a single artifact up until this point..and i dont really know the cards capabilities...it has a built in fan and whatever else came with it, but i have not modified the cooling myself.

Ok..thats my first system, now for my laptop.

    HP Presario 2500
    2.6 ghz Intel pentium 4
    512 Ram
    Radeon IGP 345M 64 MB

I dont know JACK about o/c ing IGPs. first of all, is it POSSIBLE? or will i just blow the whole comp up by tryng..

the core clock on this Radeon IGP 345M 64 MB card appears to be :

    182 / 0

I heard somewhere that it is normal for the memory to be zero on IGPs because they feed directly off the system RAM, and they dont have their own card unique ram...Needless to say i dont NEED this computer to be a gaming rig, with my other comp so fast, but right now it plays games like battlefield 1942 which i try to play LAN with my brother VERY slowly, and i would like to know if there is any sort of softmodding that could be done (Clocking, IGP tweaks etc) to make this baby work faster...

Also, it cant use the catalyst drivers or the radeon OMEGA or DNA ones...so im stuck with these crap HP default ones from like a year ago..

    HELP! :wow:

If you got the card and it was supposed to be pro and it wasnt, Id return it instantly, and contact the BBB to report the company, if you got it off an auction contact the auction to report the seller, you got scammed. You can O/C it as far as you want as long as you dont get artifacts, but Id have it replaced.

And no, dont overclock the laptop, you'll blow it up. Cooling in laptops suck, so O/Cing is not really an option.

Well i didn't get cheated, cus i PAYED only the price of a 9800 non pro (and i paid very little even for one of these)...but i hear ya wit the laptop...

is there any tweaks or drivers i could use for the IGP though?

Well thats up to you, I would still be pissed cuz its false advertising. Driver wise, you probably wouldnt see any performance increase anyway, since its a pretty junky card. Laptops really arent made to game unless you're buying high-end from Alienware/Dell/IBM ect. which Im sure you know already. Theres pretty much nothing you can do with laptops, other than buy a new one :)
