Now i know you guys are gonna laugh and call me a newbie but i am new too overclocking and just got a A7N8X Deluxe w/ 2500+ Barton Cpu.. i was told that in the Bios it was easy to just up the Mhz but i dont see anywhere in there to update the processors speed . I was told to buy a good heatsink and fan for this move too. so i bought a volcano 10 .. but if anyone can tell me how to do this i would greatly appreciate it .
Im trying to get to like 3000 - 3200+ speeds...

setting the "System Performance" to User Defined, and the "Memory Timing" to User Defined, should let you have full control over the settings.

when you try to overclock, when upping the FSB do it in small increments, and turning up the CPU voltage helps the stability part of things, just make sure it doesnt go over 1.85v. :thumb:

If that A7N8X Deluxe is a version 2.0 mobo and ya have PC3200 memory then lower the multiplier to 9.5, raise the CPU voltage by 0.1v and then wack the FSB up to 200MHz. If that proves successful then raise the multiplier again to 10 and see how that goes.

Assuming your CPU isnt locked, of course. Most week 39, and all week 40+ bartons are multi-locked just like Intels. No way to unlock them at all. If your CPU is pre-august or so you're all set, but if it's new then it is most likely locked and you're limited to FSB overclocking only.
