    Hey,

Im very new to overclocking, and wish to boost my AMD Athlon XP 1800+ (1533MHz) to around 2000MHz/2GHz, however on boot up my CPU/HD temprature is about 30C and settles at about 55C upon normal usage during the day, it has even reached 61C at one point?, just browsing the net and so on (the temp stays the same while playing UT2003 for example)...is this bad??? so far i havent noticed and performance differances, anyway will this affect overclocking?...as i have noticed that the temp will rise above average upon overclocking...thanks for any advise!

Thats way too high, a comfortable temp is no higher than 50C under 100% load.

You need to invest in some better cooling before you overclock.
