    Hi all,

I'm new to the whole overclocking thing, and I figure the best way to learn is to get in there and do it! So, I need to know how high I can set the FSB, multiplier, and voltage for the before I start doing serious damage to my CPU and/or memory??

Read the guide, Intel overclocking guide and AMD overclocking guide!

OK, I had a look at the guides and did exactly what they said. Now my 1.66GHz processor is running at a blazin 1.77GHz.... Any higher and it freezes up. I can only bring my FSB up to 140 before my comp starts gettin screwy. Can't adjust the multiplier for some reason. Tweaking the voltages doesn't help either. Also the computer won't even boot if I open it up and change the system clock to 166 via the DIP switches. Any ideas, insights, etc?

Well one of the reasons that ya can't run at 166MHz is that ya memory is only rated for 133MHz and very likely ya CPU is a Palamino which is why the multiplier won't change.
