i was wondering if removing the stock heatsink and fan from my ati radeon 9800 pro and modifying a volcano 7+ to fit it woudl this be too much for over clocking? im sure if it can keep my cpu cool it can defently handel the video card right?

Weight aside yes it would if you can find a way to mount it to the card as well as make a bracket

It would be like putting a car radiator on your processor. Unecessary overkill that you cannot reap the rewards of. Other aspects will fail long before you get any substantial increase out of the card.

Not true at all. CPU HSF's can greatly increase your clock speeds and run your card much cooler.

IF the heatsink is the limiting factor......

Part of what I was saying was that a FAR lesser processor heatsink could do the exact same job the Volcano 7+ would do, AND fit better....
