Ok I got an athlon 3000+ and im overclockin it.

First off how do i tell if it needs to be unlocked or not?

Should I get heatsinks for the ram since overclocking will heat them up more?

Will my antec 400w psu be able to power the overclocking?

Can my pc2700 ram be overclocked as well?

    Thanks for all the help

1.) youll know if you can change the multipier or not....

2.) companies have found ram sinks actually cause more heat retention...they are more just for looks.....a fan blowing from the side blowing over them would do much better

3.) should not have a problem...would probably benefit you to find something a bit more, but antecs are a solid PSU.....

4.) sure can, check you bios....and what kind of ram is it?

You'll need PC3200 RAM if you want to take that processor anywhere. Given that the 2700 will over clock some, but it wont give you as high of yields as if you got a PC3200, running a 333FSB CPU at 400FSB yields great results. : peace2: Mista K6

yeah i was gonna run the cpu at 400 and ram at 333, a ratio, not suer of the exact ratio but in the end the cpu it at 400 and ram at 333. But does ram need to run at 400 to be overclocked?

    Thanks
