Thread: DDR SDRAM PC2100+PC2700 = no OC?

    If I tried to overclock my p4 2ghz with 2 different types of ram would bad things happen? I have 3 modules, 2 pc2700 and 1 pc2100. And Iím getting a 512mb Mushkin pc3200 in the mail soon.

    Specs:
    Intel P4 2.0GHz
    GigaByte GA-81k1100
    512mb ddr sdram 2x128mb(pc2100 and pc2700) & 1x512mb(pc2700)

    Your system will almost always work better and faster if you use the same type memory, but you won't cause it any lasting harm. You will, however, be limited by the speed of the slowest module.

    Good to know! I clocked it at 2.22Ghz and got a rating of 2546 from 3DMark03. Is that a normal rating or am I doing something wrong? :)

    My original rating was 2327 with no OC.
