If only that was understandable. Oh and, you don't need a Prometia to do 2.5Ghz, just some nice cooler and a lucky chip. My old 1700+ did 2.5Ghz on air.

LOL!!! I'm going to have to call b_llsh*t on that one amd man. If it it true then cudos to you for recieving a miracle from God. I owned a 2500+ and the highest i got was 2.2 stable. 2.3 was unstable but booted. The temperatures were never really an issue even with the amd supplied fan (the processor just refused to run higher speeds). I sold it and bought a 2500+ mobile. I have an OCZ copper hs/fan that runs ~ $20 online that does a great job. I can (and do) run 2.4 stable (1.6V; ~40C). 2.5 is mostly stable but unstable in a few programs that i use often (namely Q3). And at 2.6 (1.825V; ~50C) just a handful of programs run w/o problems. I was, however able to run pcmarks2k2 and got 14k. I haven't gone above 2.6 b/c i'm alittle weary of throwing 1.9+ volts @ a $100 piece of hardware that is made to run at 1.45V. If you really want 2.5GHz i'd go 2500 Mobile, but even then you may find a few programs to be unstable. If none of this sounds good to you then you MUST look further into cooling solutions. Just my 2cents.

Never seen a Barton get to 2.5GHz though I've seen several Thoroughbreds do it (in fact my XP2600+ runs up to 11.5 x 220 though usually kept at 11.5 x 200, to noisey at 220MHz).
