i have an msi 845pe max with an p4 northwood (18*133) 2.4GHz processor running at 4GHz (with serios cooling).

but i had to put ddr 400 ram into my mobo and set the ratio to 333MHz (i had to do an bios update for the mobo becaus prior to the update the ratio sprung back to defaulth when going to a fsb of +150.
then the vcore to 1.7V and the ram to 1.8V (and my vagp stands on 1.8 but thats for the gpu)

    hope that'l answer your questions

i am running only 3 fan's an cpu cooler from zalman 120mm a 120mm in the side of my case and an 80mm fan in the back, BUT i have a device created that cools the air before it enters my computer so the air the comes in my computer is alway's below the 5°c.

actually i just took a cooling module from a freezer then build it on top of my case with a plexiglass case and letted the cooled air go then treu a device that cleans the air from humidity and the it is redirected in front of my fans.

but i got to 3.1GHz on stock cooling.

Almost certainly as long as you have decent ram and you know what you are doing. I had a 1.8GHz P4 that I switched the FSB from 100MHz to 133MHz in bios and it clocked at 2.4GHz with no problems at all, including no voltage changes or any extra heat at all. I had to use PC2700 ram to do that though. PC2100 ram will not allow for much overclocking. I suggest some decent PC2700 ram or even some PC3200 ram.

Red face Re: MSI 845pe max comparing

iv got cheap 2 x 512 pc3200 ram from good ol' scan, but to get my overclock i raise the fsb to 111 and reduce the ram to cpu ratio to 3:5, meaning i get 185mhz ram. if i try much harder the system is unstable when torturing it with prime95.
    any help please?
    thanks
