    Default 9800xt OC

When overclocking a Radeon 9800xt (or any card for that matter) - Is it common practice to increase the APG voltage?

I have OC'd my CPU etc, and I always increase the voltages to increase stability. But I'm not too sure about the effectiveness of uppin the AGP voltage.

I would just go ahead and try it out myself - but I'm not a huge fan of blowing a $600 card the first week I get it. (an extreme scenario, I know).

I whouldnt do that u cant get hight clock or ram MHz when clocking the volt on the AGP port.... the only thing u can do is to use one of the tweak tools like ATITOOL or the nvidia one ( cant remember its name ).. U cant use power the same way tru a agp port as u do with the ram or the cpu... its 2 very diffents things... it whoul be the same as if u gane u mobo 5 volt more ill bet it whouldnt like that for a very long time and it will go

You'll get little to no benefit raising the AGP voltage especially so if you have the AGP bus locked.

I read an article where someone solderd some resistors to an old GF4 Ti4600 in order to get more clock speed out of it with more voltage. He was succesful but did not get much more gaming performance out of it.
