Default Help me OC please, 2.4c//9CJS//1gb pc3200 Crucial Ram

hey...I have an intel 2.4c, and the motherboard Chaintech 9CJS Zenith.
Here is a description of the bios...
    http://www.extremeoverclocking.com/r...ch_9CJS_5.html

And here is the RAM.. http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...146-541&depa=0

    2 sticks of that.

My current temps are 28c/29c idle, and after 1 run of Aquamark 3 they were 35c. I have a Vantec Aeroflow w/ Arctic Silver 5 installed.

Please try to be detailed in your guide, I've read a few articles on the basics of overclocking, but I still think I need some hand-holding as I really don't want to mess something up. Thank you

Just take baby steps and you'll be fine...every system is different in the amount they can safely OC. Bump the FSB up a few MHz, restart and run full load if you come up OK. If your temps are OK still...repeat this process. When you encounter some sporadic behavior, try adding some voltage (few tenths) to your CPU. If this doesn’t help, try adding one or two tenths to your RAM.

You may also try slowing down the RAM timings if you need more stability.

You should be able to get 2.6 with no problems at all...2.8 may be possible as well.

I have my 2.6 at 3.0 (about 3.2 is the max) with water cooling. Ran my 1.8 at 2.0 with air cooling. No problems whatsoever

    Just remember...baby steps

haha **** babysteps!! :) I just went from 2.4 to 3.0 and idle im at 31 c, full load 48. I'm going to bump it up more...

I have 1gb pc3200 ram, i changed it to 5:4 ratio, locked agp pci, upped cpu voltage to 1.55, then ram voltage +.3
I wnat to go higher, how much more will my ram take? This is my ram...http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...146-299&depa=0

The memory says it supports 2.6V but my generic stuff is taking 2.8 right now with no errors. As for intel voltages... some one else will have to comment on that, but if you dont mind risking the CPU then go for the full haul maybe 1.6V MAX. Again some one else please comment as I dont follow intel very closely.

You can go to 1.7v, but I don't recommend over 1.65v

My buddy said the same exact thing...till his CPU would no longer post, not even after a hard reset.

With your "hand holding" comment, you sounded like you needed to take baby steps.

How much further will it go? Like I said, all chips are different, the results will follow suit.

I wanted handholding so I wouldn't forget to do something crucial like lock agp/pci at 66/33 or something. I wasn't serious, meaning "screw your message" or anything, it is good advice. I was just psyched I pulled it off! Thanks for your concern tho!
Also, was your buddy not going above 43c fullload? :)

No one could tell you that and only you can find that out so just keep going up 5MHz at a time but when it does reach a limit then change the CPU/memory ratio to 3:2 and see if it will go further again.
