    Default What's the best AMD 64 3500+ PCI-E motherboard?

I'm going to use a 450 W PS and only one XFX 6800 GT GPU.

I've heard that the Nforce 4 chipset is really fast. But I haven't seen a Nforce board with PCI-E without SLI. Thus I wonder if it's worth it to buy a SLI board if I only use one video card?

/edit: Oh yeah... I nearly forgot to mention that the board needs to have good overclocking capabilties.

    What motherboard should I get?

    Thanks for reading

This is one of the best(if not the best) overclocking nForce4 board there is. It also has 2 16x PCI-E slots but is not a SLI chipset(though it can be modded to be similar to one. I wont get into that though). Good if you would like 4 monitors in the future, like me.

That board is quite good. Feature-rich, great overclockability (best overclockablity ATM), and it might as well be an SLI board because it can be quite easily modded if you choose to run SLI.

And its a hell of a lot cheaper than a SLI board as well. Though you cant use the newer Forceware drivers if you mod it to SLI.

I've read that a lot of people are loosing their DFI lanparty boards during OCing.
Could be clumsy tweakers but it did start to make me think about the A8N-SLI delux board... Is there a really great differense between the A8n-sli dlx and the DFI langparty? I've seen good OCs with the Asus board. And it's only a 10 differance between the (non-sli) DFI and Asus board here in Holland.

Sound like an older, socket-A board. The new ones are the best out there. I'd say it's better to get the DFI. I have heard of lots reports of the Asus SLI board failing. As far as overclocking goes, the DFI board will be significantly better, especially for overclocking RAM.

    Another vote for the DFI.
