What result do you get when you use Nvidia control panel "Detect Optimal Settings"

This is good, it means that you can overclock the core to 405 from 375. This now leads to another avenue, the programme you are using to oc, if the card clocks to 405 with detect optimal settings the problem must lie elsewhere, e.g. Coolbits or the way you are using it.

Personally I enable driver level overclocking through RivaTuner and adjust clock frequencies via the Nvidia control panel, isn't Coolbits the one with the power user option? (been a while since I used it)

My age ....... lets just say I've got 30 years on you

EDIT: What output is your psu? Also, after using detect optimal frequencies can you move the slider anymore than 405 on the core clock?

The BFG runs it's memory @ 400mhz stock??????? that's weak for a BFG card.

My xpertVision one (pictured in this thread's 2nd post) had it's RAM stock at 500mhz.

I knew nothing about overclocking until I was 20.

I'm now 21... going onto 22 in a few months.

well i got an ok 350w powersuply

after i do detect optimal settings yes i can move the slider to go higher
buy the way i used another program bafore this one and it did the same thing,
with coolbits it gives me more features though than the other program plus the one i got is cooldits 2.0 the updated one

also when i overclock the memory i do get a big differance in games
really the only reson i want to overclock is to test how much my games will play better untill i get the bfg6800gt agp8x 256mb
also is the bfg6800gt agp8x 256mb a good card and if u could are there any other companies better than bfg

Well I guess that solves some of your problem then

You may want to look at a new psu if you go 6800GT

I have no experience with BFG, I'm kind of an Asus fan boy when it comes to pc parts so no comment on the brand.

Good luck with your GT those things overclock to insane clocks

hey well the card says it only needs a 300wt psu i have 350w psu but if i get a 500w will be able to do better overclocking and the good about bfg is that it has a lifetime warranty and it has higher clocks than many other brand
also do asus make 6800gt and r they good
