Thumbs up amd643700sd @2.75ghz with 4 gigs ocz platium

    hey ladies and germs(lol!!),
just messing with ma system last night before i roked out on some bf2.i wanted 2.6ghz+.to start this actually painless oc i bumped fsb to 250 9:8(180mhzdivider)cas 2.5-3-2-5 (2t),multiplier 11x,ldt on auto and banged 2.75ghz np.end result got me 11,047 on stock 7900gtx.i felt ok with that considering at stock2.2ghz 3700 got me 10,049 which was nice for a full 1,000 more points on 05 run :p.all voltages were stock 1.36v on cpu,and 2.7v on 4 gigs.i called ocz a lil while ago and jimmy there was like wow!lol.anyway temps were fine as i thought leaving voltages stock resulting in a 42c idle temp.was told by jimmy that the tccd ocz platium 3200 rev2,s like NOT to be overvolted to like some do result in actually creating instability.also these modules he said were preferd overhigher speed modules because these offer insane features such as being able to run 4 gigs of this stuff at 2-3-2-5(2t) fsb240 stock 2.7 voltage is not uncommon at all.kinda funny to see these results for myself cause i have a biostar u8068(viap4m266 mobo)with a 2.0 northy paired to a windbound bh-5 pc3200 512 stick to get me at 2.7ghz all day long cas 2-2-2-5,fsb 132.im not new to the pc world at all i just simply starting to overclock my stuff being having freinds always torturing me saying i have top of the line options and dont use them well anyway if u guys dont mind i would like to hang out here vs the video card forum and time to time im in the dfistreet forum.i know for a fact if i take out the 2 gigs and leave remainder 2 in there i can lower to 1t setting and 260 fsb with 11x multi @ cas 2.5-2-3-5 ,9:8,resulting in 2.8mhz :p.now is it gonna be stable im gonna run prime for a few hours get back to u guys s00n. fr@g like its your job!!!

Does the 4 gigs actually help in any games?? I'm at 2 and was thinking it's enough. I also have the OCZ platinum @ 2-2-2-5/1T~210MHZ@2.8v.

i load bf2 maps in like seriuosly under 7seconds,its amazing.my freind 1 day was over lanning out(hooking pcs up together in same room).he leans over as soon as we hooked up,played til map changed and was like dude wtf was that s%*t !lol.hes like that was under 10seconds,as we watched his load up 20-30 sec later.now keep in mind hes running a p4 660 3.6@4.5ghz with 2 gigs kingston dd2 533 value ram cas 2.5-3-3-6,7800gtx box. its not a slow box in any way.anyway long story short, yes its amazing of a difference and i used to think it was gonna be impossible with 4 gigs of ram to overclock.bf2 has never ever loaded so fast.im always the first in maps(if im second dudes connected to the griggin server directly)my specs are in my sig and this thing flies i would never just run2 gigs in any other boxes i build, cripes and leave 2 slots empty?any resolution above 1280x1024 settings hi need 2 gig minmum.and dude kik down that ram voltage to 2.7volts,u just like frying your sticks for no reason at all?.im running all 4 gigs of the same stuff on 2.7volts with 247 fsb 1:1 cas 2.5-3-2-7 :p,was on the phone with jimmy at ocz and he agreeded that these tccd sticks dont like voltage increases at all.

read up on bf2 and memory, the real deal below.....frag out

I'd imagine the speed is from the Raptors combined with having 2GBs of RAM. Windows XP cannot use more than 2GB of RAM on a single process (Microsoft limitation here), so I highly doubt your load times would be greatly affected by having more than 2GBs unless you have a lot of RAM being used by stuff other than BF2.

    listen plz there yawg....
if u clik this link and scroll down to the first screenshot of 1280x960 with some settings shut off and the guy there is still using 1.2 ghz of ram!!!(fact ok) then you are going to tell me that im lying if i told u that my bf2 uses FULL 2.21 gigs of ram at 1800x1440 settings absolutly floored in windows options on my 7900gtx options @ 16xAA,8xAF,supersampling enabled, then to punish my pc even higher go into bf2 options\video menu and crank up everything to possible max at 1800x1440 resolution dude plz stop.i agree that my 2 raptors in raid 0 ovoiusly help and being at 2.7ghz helps on top of that.dude plz understand this face:I RUN MONSTER SETTINGS WITH MONSTER EQUIPMENT USING MONSTER RAM USAGE = MONSTER FPS LIKE SILK....if your trying to convince yourself that 2 gigs is fine(mabye for your lil setup there),ok dude dont argue with me that 4 gigs is not usefull in my setup ok?(argue with yourself plz)
sigh why do ppl even question me about my system...lmfo

if i put my settings i use on bf2 using your pc,your pc would probaly have a instant stroke dude

"1.2GHz" of RAM is less than 2GB, so the link (which I had already read) doesn't really apply. That said, I hadn't thought of the fact that you're running your resolution at well above normal levels.

The PC would be fine, but you couldn't use the same settings because my monitor only goes to 1600x1200. Even if you could, I'm pretty sure it would be fine. The game is very playable with settings maxed out (except for the X-Fi, which I can't enable since I'm still using an old Audigy 2) at that resolution, and I wouldn't be surprised if it could go higher.
For the record, what do think my system specs are? Your system is significantly better, but not so much that it will put mine to shame in a game based on last-gen video cards.

dude listen i didnt mean to attack you by any means ,but in many posts u constantly say that 4 gigs of ram is not needed.my point to u was in my particular computer it is and gets used close to the upper2-3 gig range, didnt mean to be so harsh but sik of hearing 4 gigs is overkill were what i have my expectations are i need the full 4 gigs man, thats it.and im sure your pc can run bf2 maxed out as u say...mine was built around maxing my 22in moniters max resolution at settings floored, and i found out rifling threw 6800gt,6800ultra,7800gt,now 7900gtx with the other specs that my pc uses every dollar i sunk into it for them settings.good rule of thumb when ppl how fast do u think my pc is etc.i simply tell them, when you can run minter higherst res, maxed settings it can period.yes it sounds insane with the money being spent, but me and my freinds go by that rule resulting in devasting gaming rigs.agia pysics card next.. http://www.bfgtech.com/physx/index.htm

Thanks for the warning...but they are rated up to 2.8v by OCZ...besides, the sticks are actively cooled.

    http://www.ocztechnology.com/product...annel_platinum

Good info to know..I plan on getting a monitor/TV with a naitive res of 1920x1080 so it looks like another 2gigs would help at the higher res.

I am usually the first on the map in BF2 as well...quite nice having whatever vehicle you want huh?
