    I have a GA-ep45-DS3L which I want to OC to 3.6 Ghz. I’ve been
    able to hit 3.3 GHz

    Changes made for a stable machine @ 3.3 GHz:
    Advanced settings –disables - as suggested to others,
    5-5-5-15.
    Vcore 1.3
    CPU host 670 MHz
    All other settings are stock - usually auto

    System: Q6600, EP GA45-d3SL, 750W PS, <st1:stockticker>ATI</st1:stockticker> FireGL video,
    4x2Gig Corsair <st1:stockticker>DDR</st1:stockticker>2-800, MaxOrb air fan, Win XP Pro SP2,
    500GB Seagate, Generic <st1:stockticker>DVD</st1:stockticker>win XP pro 64 bit

    Stability tested by running several CAD and Finite
    Element programs which depend on memory swapping as much
    as on the actual computations. I can live with 3.3 Ghz
    and obtaining 3.6 is more of a learning process.

    Core temps are between 33 and 36 deg C under no load to load
    respectively.

    </o:p><o:p></o:p>I’ve tried: ( one at a time ) raising <st1:stockticker>DDR</st1:stockticker> voltage to 2.1
    and raising Vcore to 1.4 or 1.5 but can not break 3.3GHz.

    </o:p>Vcore , according to CoreTemp and Sys Health is about .05v below
    the setting of 1.3 v.

    Try this, or maybe you should use the 8 multi with 425+ For 3.4+

    D, Thanks for the response.

    The good news: The result from trying the maximum values of the settings is that the system will post nicely and start win xp .: runs at 3600 MHz at 42C ( coretemp) . All the settings you suggested were apparently necessary.The maximum values did seem to be necessary as well .


    But memtest is really unhappy - gives a 'pair is bad' result right off.
    I have not pulled any out yet - wait for your response. I may have fried a pair but all 8Gig show up on cpuz and post. Finite element programs crash. This is the first concern. I can walk the maximum values down later.

    from Cerulean... I brought the system back to the 9x370 settings with the exception of CPU termination set to 1.44 volts. Xp64 opens, MemTest runs without errors. So the sticks are apparently good. Other timing settings are making the DRAM look bad.

    Ya, I was about to say you may need 2.1V on the ram to run 2.00B multi. Since you are now at different settings are you happy? If not please post what you have stable, and what you would like to get stable and I will see if I can help

    And yes, you can slowly work the timings down one by one testing as you go, start with static tRead, maybe you can get 7-8 to work

    The above settings are stable in the sense that the rig posts and xinxp64 opens with no reboots. Everything seems well until MemTest - or any other program - is run. 2.1v for the Dram did not help. The very first listing in this thread is MemTest friendly. ( 9x370)

    Well you have to show me full settings you are trying now that are failing memtest but stable otherwise and I can try to help

    The settings that are failing MemTest are those above in the 12-02 posting - the last set shown.

    Well your ram may just not run at 1000 very well, or you need 2.1V and maybe 1.35 MCH
