    Lightbulb Gigabyte GA-EP43T-USB3 & DDR3 1600MHz Ram Help

Hello I recently brought some new pc parts and need help with some overclocking, I cant find help anywere and I come across this site on google (looks great btw)

Basicly I brought a motherboard that supports 1600mhz ddr3 ram with overclock, but im not too sure on how to get the settings right (either the pc doesnt post or intelburn says its unstable) its currently running at 1066 and I want to get it running at 1600mhz stable or atleast even 1333mhz otherwise it feels like a waste of money, im new to overclocking and neva attempted before, so could anyone help me out? I kinda confused about the whole 1:1, 1:2 ratio thing etc.

The cpu does run nice and cool, so overclocing aint a problem if I have too... CPU is normaly around 20-25c

    Specs:

    CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4 ghz

CPU Cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev 2 Socket 775

    Mobo: Gigabyte GA-EP43T-USB3 P43

    Ram: Crucial 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600MHz Ballistix Memory Kit CL8(8-8-8-24)

Bios Screenshots if anyone needs 2 see what options i got

In order to run 1600 Memory speed you will need at least 400 FSB on the CPU (8x400= 3.2Ghz), 1333Mhz a lot easier of course using 333 x 9 for 3Ghz, both should be fine though.

Let me know which FSB you want to try, then I can give you a full list of settings to get you started. You will need to test and tinker though because you will need to find your own stable voltages for your CPU, ect, as I can't do it from here :)

Ok thanks dood, I did try 400x8 for 3.2ghz overclock and it was running stable in intelburn, but as soon as I play with the ram settings, that's were I get the problems booting :( I also tried 400x6 which is 2.4ghz while changing the ram settings but no joy :( but I do wanna try and get the proper ram speed, so I'll try 400 fsb and hopefully ur settings will work :)

Alrighty then! You may need more vcore then I suggest, or less, so keep that in mind.

Hey, can you link me to your exact memory or show a image of the SPD tab of CPU-z? Then I will re-edit these settings if need be.

    Code:
    MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)
Robust Graphics Booster ...............: Auto or Fast
    CPU Clock Ratio ..........................: 8
    Fine CPU Clock Ratio.....................:.0
    CPU Frequency ...........................: 3.2

    Standard Clock Control
    CPU Host Clock Control..................: [Enabled]
CPU Host Frequency (Mhz) ............: 401 Mhz
PCI Express Frequency (Mhz) .........:Set to 100

    Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.).....: Disabled
    (G)MCH Frequency Latch...............: [Auto]
System Memory Multiplier ..............: 4.00B for 1600Mhz, may not work though, if you have 4.00D try it. You may need to use 3.33D and a higher FSB if you don't want 1333Mhz
Memory Frequency (Mhz) ..............: 1333/1600 see above
    DRAM Timing Selectable ................: [Manual]

^^ if using 1333Mhz you can likely use 777-20 above, or lower even if you want to try 666-18 (May require more voltage to Vdimm/MCH) ^^

Set all Suggested below to highest Values first. Then later you can lower, one at a time, testing as you go

Thanks! I just wanted to check the spec voltage is all. Will edit above to reflect proper voltages

This memory is made for X58/P55 systems, did you know that when you bought it? Just wondering, it should be ok still though.

I tried these settings (had to change it alittle becouse it wouldnt post) but intelburn is saying my system is unstable, cpu is running at around 30c but wen using intelburn its going up to around 60-70c? How would i make my system more "stable" ?

Edit: just had a bsod :(

Yes, it should be ok to use. I just mentioned it in case you didn't realize it.

What was the BSOD Code you are getting? It will be on the left side of the screen towards the middle and look like this 0x00000000. If you are using windows 7 or Vista it will also show a pop up warning box when you get into windows again, show more details and the last three digits of the code will be at the top of the details, those are what I need to know.

Then give me your new settings you have semi working and I can advise back

Well it either bluescreens or windows freezes, need time it does bsod I'll give u the code, I'm running intelburn ATM with the ram at 1333mhz and don't seem to having any problems ATM, thanks dood I'll keep u posted

edit: wen the system memory multiplier is set to 4.00D that's wen the problems seem to happen, I get "loading windows files" at startup and then it restarts

    what does load-line calibration do?
