I don't know why I thought you had the GA-EP45T-UD3P that's why I thought a fan on it's side, but I guess it don't matter that much if it's on tp or the side.

My guess us you will be able to set tRD below 9. Not at this FSB/DDR rate/timings.
Ben_charm has a (almost identical) twin OC, check out his thread at the GIGABYTE forum.

I think before I start working on the memory timings, I am going to try for my max overclock. I'm going to go up in 100mhz increments and stabilize until I think I am at my limit. I have saved all my settings for 4Ghz because I think it is a good day to day working range. I have been folding all day and my temps never went above the 50's. So wish me luck and lets hope for the best. I would love to get 4.25- 4.4!! The only test that scares me that high is the linx test, all the other test stay in a safe temp range. when I finish with this testing I am gonna drop back and lock in my memory to the best settings.

What temps you get for the LinX?

I'm at 4.1Ghz now and I ran linx last night and temps were 78c-81c, so I didn't let it run very long. I passed the 3 prime95 tests and 8+ hours on the blend test. Those temps were 60c to 63c all night. I don't want to run the linx test with temps that high. Will it be ok to just do a longer time in prime95 and not run linx? Why does it generate so much more heat?

If you don't wish to run LinX just run small FFT for a longer period, maybe also OCCT small data set. LinX just make it easy to ensure the processor has enough vcore to perform at it's expected power.

LinX use an optimized math library from Intel that probably make use of as much as possible circuits of the processor for maximum efficiancy.

I have been doing some testing and I couldn't get some benchmarks to run in ubuntu, so I decided to put Vista on a secondary drive to run tests and benchmark with. I installed it and it booted up and then at the start screen with the running bar is froze then flashed a BSOD for a millisecond I almost missed it. I am running my stable settings. Is there a big difference in the way windows and linux operate the can have one stable and one not? I tried raising and lowering vcore, adjusted vtt, and reference voltages nothing fixed it.

I really thought my system was stable but it's confusing to me that one OS runs fine and the other wont.

I was thinking maybe the drive could be faulty, but I put it in another computer and it runs fine and while I had it in there I installed all updates to sp2 and then reinstalled into my main computer and still no different.

With all respect to linux it is not a match to windows when it comes to services. It might be that there's a lot of stress on the CPU during boot. I found that running Prime95 as soon as I get desktop, while windows is still busy, is likely to fail quite quick when otherwise it will take a long time to fail, or won't fail at all.

Have you ran Prime95 torture on linux?

Best way to go is install windows at default settings to ensure no files are corrupted.
    Also post full settings.

My q9550 on p45t extreme board is stable at 4 ghz daily under win7 but not stable at 4.1ghz. If it helps the only real settings differences we have is I'm running 1.362vcore, no CPU or mch skew, and I think my mch voltage is a click or 2 below yours as well.... Based on settings you posted earlier

I have lowered my vcore down to 1.362v now, I had way to much to start with. I think the windows problem was a corrupt install to start with. It wouldn't even load on stock settings so I don't think it was a stability issue after all. I am reinstalling now so everything should be ok now.

I am still going to try to reach 4.3 ghz, I made it to 4.1Ghz in linux but couldnt get any benchmark software to run properly, so I am going to do everything from vista now to see where I can take this thing to.

Well I got Vista installed and everything running. I think the program in ubuntu that showed core temps and system voltages were not as accurate as the programs that are available in windows. My temps are much better now running Linx linpack. I am going to continue to increase and adjust settings tonight and try for a higher cpu clock tomorrow, with these temps I don't see why I can't go higher.
