just keep testing now and try and lower cpu voltage, keep qpi/vtt where it is for now,you will still benefit from a better cooler though and good quality thermal paste

what memory multi and uncore freq are you using?

umm i havent really touched memory besides frequency multiplier, and havent changed uncore.

    basically i only changed:

cpu freq multiplier from 26x133 to 31x133 (3.33GHz to 4.123GHz)
memory multiplier to make 1333 become 1600 (x12 i think)
    Vcore from 1.22 to 1.35
    qpi/vtt from 1.17 to 1.33
cpu fan from quiet to performance

when i went to change qpi/vtt to 1.35 it was in red or whatever so i made it 1.33

thanks again for your time and patience.

set the memory timing to ram spec, set for channel a,b,c in the top four slots like this
    8
    8
    8
    24
    command rate 1T
uncore will be 2x the mem multi so 8x mem multi will be 16x but try with 15 and 14x as that chip will let you lower it more than a 920/930 chip and will use less qpi/vtt voltage with a lower uncore freq

sorry just read,if its 12x mem multi then uncore freq can be 24x or 23x or 22x

Don't try to make sense from marketing strategies. Not all that shines is better.
I just go by other's reviews, though even if not 100% accurate, can't be off that much. If the V8 is not better it's at least equally good.

With all that said, you will probably still be happy with it, it's not a bad cooler at all, it's just that the V8 is compact and cheaper.

ok so i have kingston pc3-10700 ddr3 sdram 1333mhz(667x2) 2gbx6 which is apparently rated at 1.5v with a max of 1.575.

interesting thing is that i have dram set to auto and bios says dram voltage is 1.632, in dram selections it turns red at 1.66v.

just wondering if it bumped it up from 1.5 after i overclocked to 1600MHz? and not sure if i should underclock it to 1.575 or so.
