    What is the "stock" PSU?
According to ATI Radeon HD 5770 Review > Power Consumption & Temperatures - TechSpot Reviews system poer was 284 Watts, so at least 355W(80% efficiency) PSU with a 6pin power connector.
It was made with OCed I7 975, so your system may need less power.

BTW, only benchmarks count, so you may want to test which of your settings yields the best results

That may not be ebough, does it have a 6pin power connector?

I have no idea what 0xb error is related to, better back the clock down a bit.

    In newegg
450 Watt or greater power supply with 1x 75W 6-pin PCI Express power connector recommended

Honestly I have no idea what that spread spectrum is.
PCI frequency better be left at 100 no need to change it.
The card should be capable for some overclocking too, see if you need it though.

Have you ran any graphic benchmarks yet? 3DMark 06, or any other?

Rank is just position in the list.
Note that the HD 5770 is ranked 50, so if there is not much difference in price you may want it instead.
Check the price of GeForce GTX 550 Ti also.

I remember my first "quality" MX 2 card, I was playing Max Payne then, and I was amazed by the graphics and smoothness of the game compared to the ATI "accelerator" I had before it.
