This might a stupid question, but will the memory bandwidth and performance be exactly the same as the Geforce 4 MX460 if I overclocked it to 300(Core)/460(Memory)?

Hey guys, I just had an idea. I have an old K6-2 sitting around with the Fan, its normal AMD size, its an IBM system. I was wondering if it would be at all possible to stick the fan on my GF2 MX400 cuz I dont wanna overclock it, it seems to run quite hot. Is it possible?

Also, am I just thinking its too hot? As i said, i havent overclocked it yet, so I doubt it would be.

Overclocked the video card, but it doesn't seem to make a difference. In Quake 3, without o/c, I get 90fps. After overclocking it seems pretty much the same. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

You're probably not doing anything wrong at all, Quake 3 doesn't demand that much compared to todays standards, and your refresh rate is probably 90Hz, thus you don't get a higher FPS than 90.

Try playing a game like UT2003 or some other 'now' game, then you'll see a diffrence in your OCing.

Also, you should be able to get your G4 440MX working at 330/500Mhz without any extra fans + heatsinks, give it a go. :thumb:

I like to thank everyone for their help. I have successfully o/c my video card, without any problems. Now my mx440 acts as a mx460 :)

Just one more question, I'm using coolbits reg hack to o/c the video card. However, when I log onto to WinXP, my monitor blinks for 1 second. Is this normal? Will it damage the video card?

Hey all, as long as everyone is talking about o/cin' video cards, I thought I'd jump on the band wagon :D . I have a 64mb GF2 mx/mx440, it sux, I know :steam: . I recently d/l coolbits and installed it. The factory settings have the core clock at 175mhz, the slider is about 1/3 of the way in from the left, and the memory clock at 334 mhz, the slider being all the way to the right (maxed out). I wanna o/c my card a bit, but I dont want to have to put on a new fan or HS or anything like that. What are some safe settings that would give me better performance that I already have (I mean, the memory clock is already maxed). Any help would be great, thx, : peace2: Mista K6
