What is the differnece between ECC memory and non-ECC memory? The none ECC is much cheaper. Will it make a difference on my PC?

ECC memory has built in error checking/correcting methods. This is normally used in high-end server and serious scientific applications.

A lot of desktop type motherboards don't even support ECC type modules.
The non-ECC is just great for common everday users like us, our data isn't that critical.
The reason a diamond shines so brightly is because it has many facets which reflect light.

since you're posting this in the OC'ing forum...I'll add this - ECC Ram usually does not Oc very well - so if OC'ing is your thing, stay away from it even if your MB supports it
