murayoshi, unfortunately you have a palominio so it won't clock great. Tbred B's will do 2.1 ghz with a slight voltage increase, no sweat, and 2.3+ with radical voltage. great place to learn about the 8rda here:

Check out the stickies regarding bios setup and start overclocking slowly, you might get lucky.

And SWINGER, if you don't have a lot of dough, forget about P4 and figure out how to max your bang for buck with AMD

thax for responding....i read it in epox thread that according to epox guide set memory timing to 7-3-3 lat 2.5 memory to 100% i've tried it and oc'd to 142 fsb, test it with prime95, sisoft sandra 2003 and 3d mark2001se it comes out stable...the only problem is my temp is 45 w/ no load and 52 loaded...i decided to set 139fsb till i get agood hsf.....

oh yeah you have a zalman..........nice idea, but not effective. Here is a review of coolers:

    http://www.dansdata.com/coolercomp.htm#3aproto

I went with the Volcano 7+ and it does a great job even at the lowest fan setting.

I had a palomino 1800+ on a K7S5A that would get to 147 fsb but not 150 at stock voltage. You will probably do better, after you get a better cooler, because you can raise vcore. Don't raise it past 1.8 however, unless you want to get extreme.

If it's makin' ya ears bleed then turn it down to medium speed as full speed (and noise) ain't required unless ya have a case airflow prob.
