Im not even sure if macs have a BIOS, or alteast to the extent of a PC, its likely just some code on a ROM chip on the mobo. Remember, when you buy a G4, your getting a G4 by apple, not a Dell with a VIA chipset, microsoft OS, and NVidia GFX. :p

Dont tkae my word on that, as I'm basing it on my little experience with them.

Theres many legit sites that have guides, if youre looking for one

It looks as if newer ones require a mobo mod, which voids your warranty

for macs u can buy cache memory or if u have a g3 u can slot a g4 with the PCI card but i doubt that helps so much.

    www.virtualmac.com
the L2 cache however is a good one to try but let me tell you it aint cheap. u can get an extra 1 meg cache if u want and that is huge modern p4's use 512K only.
check this site www.xlr8.com for some stuff called hyperspeed 7200 which oughta be of some help. (believe me if its mac it never is cheap)

    p4 1.7GHz, 1GB DDR-Ram, 40GB hdd, DVD-ROM+External DVD-+RW, connected to a BenQ 17"LCD Display (own LCD display went nuts)
