OK i don't know if this is in the correct forum, but I got a problem here for you fellows that has to do with benchmarking results

In part of my optimization for my UltimateKickkAss Computer (that is my name for it) I decided to benchmark my processor vs. equivalent processors. The results showed my processor lagging a little behind.

Now what I want to know is, is that norm? IS there any way I can improve that figure? What should I do? I am a bit puzzled. Here is my rig as it stands.

    Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz 533FSB 512

Asus P4 g8x Deluxe 850E Granite Bay chipset

1028 Mg of DDR 333 pc2700 Kingston RAM

SATA Seagate Barricuda 80 gigabyte HDD

    Radeon 9500 PRO

I compared my system with the same kind of processor and some other processors that are way out of my league. So I don't know maybe I am doing something wrong

My version of Sandra is 9.44

optomize your system, remove stupid apps running and stuff that may lag your system AND make sure you not testing against [SMT] or something (i think thats it) they always sseem to be faster than normal i dont know why

I did all the optimizing parts, but what is the SMT? Anything else?

have u tried upgrading ur bios or chipset drivers, maybe those processors that ur comparing to have all been tested with newer chipset drivers or newer bios versions.
what's ur OS, it effects 3dmark results, maybe it effects sandra too...
in that case u might wanna try, like tweakXP,ME etc...
by the way can u be more specific on the results, like how bad is ur cpu compared to a referance cpu on sandra... (my xp1700+ barely outperforms a 1600+ on sandra)

ALi/AMD/Intel/SiS/VIA all supply chipset drivers (eg: VIA 4in1's).

Normally via the mobo manufacturer as they've likely tailored the drivers to suit their implimentation.

Best way to make up the ultimate kickasseatemup computer would be to trade in the intel and get an AMD Barton.:D
