That should be "Duron" not "Celeron". (Clarification)

weta : This guess of yours is exactly what I had heard as well.
But from your last update, it sounds like AMD will keep a Duron-level processer alive...Interesting !

In fact it looks like the Duron will get added life as it was to die once the Athlon64 became available with the AthlonXP takin' it's place.

But who will buy Durons since the XP line is going to be so cheap in the near future..:?:

The Durons will be discontinued, and the XP's will TAKE their place.

Athlon 64 is launched in September
Is this an accurate date? Has anyone seen AMD's plan for the next year or two years (or more) ?

AMD was all set to launch its "ClawHammer" 64-bit CPU on the 30th of September, but now it's going to launch it a full week earlier to coincide with the new dates for the Computex Show in Taipei.

    Athlon 64 3400+ K8 benchmarks (see attachment)

Wait for the image to download (25 sec @ 56k), then click on the expand button in the bottom right hand corner. Sorry but I couldn't make the image any smaller otherwise you wouldn't be able to read it.
