Corsair to demonstrate DDR-II memory modules at IDF
XMS2 – the new name for overclockers

Corsair Memory, a firm that makes memory modules with high overclocking potential for computer enthusiasts, said it would demonstrate its next-generation memory modules at Intel Developer Forum next month.

“We are already sampling DDR-II modules which we will be releasing under the brand-name XMS2. While mainboards supporting this next generation memory will not hit the streets until April, our mainboard partners and gaming OEMs are already putting them to through their paces,” spokesperson for Corsair said.

“Review sites are expected to begin testing Corsair XMS2 modules in February,” an official for the firm added.

The first public demonstration of the XMS2 memory modules will be at Spring Intel Developers’ Forum in San Francisco February 17-19, 2004.

The first DDR-II memory modules will be PC2-3200 (400MHz) and PC2-4300 (533MHz), expect other memory vendors to showcase their products during IDF, CeBIT and other shows scheduled to happen this Spring. Corsair Memory specialises in modules capable of working at speeds beyond specified by standards and may show off something that is faster than other DDR-II offerings.

Doesn't DDR2 have higher latency which will impact its performance at first?
If the stuff in glow sticks is truly toxic then why do they make so many flavors?
